You said hello, and the conversation has never stopped

I said I'd like to dance,

And the rhythm still ripples through my heart

You squeezed my hand,

And it grew into warm embraces to last a lifetime

I made you dinner,

You lit up my life's candle,

And held my gaze across the table for eternity

You set me soaring beyond my stagnant dreams,

Gave me wings to surf across tomorrow

I say thank you, thank you my love.

I kiss you, I cherish you, I love you, now and always

Before God's summer heat,

Still and sacred, before family and friends,

We do

I said I do, you said I do.

I hold the laughter in your eyes in the groove of my soul

I stop, just to catch my breath,

And I look God in the face, straight, and ask:

What took you so long to bring me my soulmate?

I sigh, smile and surrender

The journey ahead begins with a single dream,

Woven in the silence of twin souls

It's long, surprising, overwhelming, joyful, binding.

It's destiny.

When troubles mount-

You bend, you labor, push on,

To avoid the road that plunges ahead into darkness

I watch you rise again, pain coursing through your tired back,

And I cry...

I cry when I see the pocketload of dignity that you bring back home,

Priceless

I cry for the blessing of a man who knows love, gives love, loves loving

I cry for the joy of knowing you,

Holding you close in my heart, to the end of my days

And again I say I do.
